          Jail Intervention Services

The Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol Commission provides intervention services at the Lawrence County Jail.  This program is voluntary and available to most inmates.  The goals of this program include:

·         Educate individuals about addiction and its consequences

·         Educate individuals about services available upon his/her release to assist in maintaining a substance-free lifestyle

·         Assist individuals in acquiring skills and support systems which promote recovery from substance use/abuse

·         Reduce future incarceration and other legal issues

Treatment services are also available at the Lawrence County Jail.  The Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol Commission contracts with a licensed drug and alcohol provider to implement such services.  To access intervention or treatment services, inmates should contact the jail’s counselors.
